The brief was to work alongside Oddbox on their first proposition for retail – a fresh cooking sauce made from rescued vegetables.
It was crucial that consumers (and buyers) understood the fresh nature of the product, when competing on shelf with lower priced jarred cooking sauces.
The packaging design also had to work in harmony with the Oddbox brand which had built up a strong following within direct to consumer rescued vegetable delivery.
We created a vibrant retail ready packaging design for Oddbox – clearly showing the value proposition to consumers, with each ingredient in the pack swirling around in bold photography.
We determined that to warrant a higher price point in cooking sauces – consumers needed to be clear on the benefits they were gaining.
This helped us to articulate our product “virtue” claims – derisking the product and guiding consumers with messaging such as “Over 15 Veg & Spices”.
